Here are the events for this year, not only those of the ESU Loire Valley, but other associations too. We have everything from quizzes to hog roasts.

Congratulations to Yolande Powell for the first and third placed pictures in the January photographic competition for her photos “The castle in Autumn” and “Sunset over the Loire”, and to Jean-Paul  Paitreault for his photo of the Voiliers at Le Thoureil, which was placed second.

December 2024

Christmas meal

Venue: Le Tablier de Marie, 28 Grand’Rue, Juigné-sur-Loire (Formerly ‘Le Cheval Blanc’) – see Google maps

Date: Saturday 7 December 

Time: 12h00

Cost: members 32 €, non-members 36 € 

The committee will be delighted if you can join us at the ESU Loire Valley annual Christmas lunch party. 

What better way to start the festive season than with a good meal and some light entertainment in the company of friends?  We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at the Christmas meeting, which this year will take place at the restaurant Le Tablier de Marie at Juigné-sur-Loire.

Entertainment will focus on the Christmas season and will include communal carol singing, with carol sheets provided. If you have a Christmas song you would like to sing or play, or a Christmas story or poem you would like to read out, please note this on your application and someone will contact you

Raffle

The committee is hoping to include many seasonal prizes in the raffle. Contributions will be greatly appreciated but please ensure items donated are new, within their shelf life and warrant the cost of a raffle ticket. Please remember to bring along lots of loose change.

Raffle proceeds contribute to the funds to provide public speaking competitions and debating initiatives for young people. For details of these activities and other ESU events, see the other pages on the website.
