Christmas lunch was held on the 13thDecember at the Auberge la Sansonniére in St. Georges-des-Sept-Voies. The auberge was filled to capacity with cheerful members and guests, who clearly enjoyed the meal, the singing and the raffle - more details.

Approximately 40 members and guests met for the November event at the Panorama Restaurant which certainly lived up to its name and offered the most spectacular views of the Château, the town of Saumur and the Loire river - more details.

Twenty-six members and friends enjoyed an interesting and informative morning at the nuclear power station in Chinon on Tuesday, 14th October, followed by an excellent lunch at l‘Oree des Bois, at Breille les Pins - more details.

The 2014 ESU Treasure Hunt took place on the 6th September. 21 members and guests took part in 7 cars and headed off into the unknown at 16.00hrs - questionnaire and more details.

The beginning of August did not promise to be suitable for outdoor activities; however, a determined party were welcomed by Willemien and Pieter Van der Nat-Verkage at the Château de la Burronière for the summer barbecue. In the event, the storm passed over before lunch so that members and guests enjoyed their meals in the on the château's terrace, followed by a guided tour of the park - more details.

A large party gathered on the 5th July at the Château du Breil de Foin where they were welcomed by their hosts Sylviane and Jerôme de Brossard - more details.

The event scheduled for 7th June 2014 had to be cancelled at short notice so plans were put in place for a get together at the popular Euro-Routier restaurant, “Chez Paul” on the outskirts of Doué la Fontaine - more details.

Oana Bucescu from the Lycée Saint Martin in Angers represented the Loire Valley in the ESU Public Speaking Competition. This was held from the 12th to the 16th May at ESU Dartmouth House, London - more details.

Twenty-three members and guests attended the May lunch to enjoy a traditional meal of fouées followed by wine tasting at the cellars of Montreuil Bellay Château - more details.

Tony Oakley guided eighteen members, friends and a dog on the May Day walk - more details.

The Annual General Meeting of the ESE Loire Valley Branch was held in Angers on the 17th April 2014 with thirty members attending - more details.

Twenty two members and guests attended a talk by Monsieur Michel Gys, an enthusiastic ornithologist and long time member of the LPO (Ligue pour la Protection des Oiseaux) on the 5 of March - more details.

Twenty eight persons attended the February lunch, to exercise their brains in answering the quiz questions set by John Curd, and to judge members' pictures - more details.
