Thirty-eight members and guests attended the Christmas lunch at la Sansonnière Restaurant - more details.

An audience of forty-two members and guests gathered at l’Orée des Bois, la Breille les Pins, on 23rd November, where they listened to André Limousin, International Sales Director of Unil Opal, talk about the pleasures and pains of selling in foreign countries - more details.

Thirty-one enthusiastic members and guests arrived at the Lycée Hôtelier Sadi-Carnot in Saumur to take learn how too select wines and their accompanying dishes - more details.

Twenty member took part in the annual rally and treasure hunt on the 21st September. Terence O'Hara led the party around the area north of Beaufort, ending at a restaurant near les Rosiers sur Loire, where he announced that Mike and Irene Small, aided by Joan Homer, had won - more details.

Fifty-nine members and guests attended the annual barbecue, which was a great success in spite of the rain. As always, Mike and Irene Small provided an excellent repast - more details.

The Chateau de Gizeux provided a suitably impressive setting for the July outing. The chatelaine gave members a guided tour, which was followed lunch in the dining room and a chance to sample some Borgueil wines - more details.

Thirty one members travelled to Beaufort-en-Vallée on 15th June, where they enjoyed the hospitality of Chantal and Alain Bertrand.

May started in a damp and unpleasing fashion which detered all but the hardiest from joining Tony Oakley to search for signs of spring - more details.

On Saturday 13th April some 30 members of the ESU gathered near Angers for a talk on the Black Prince and lunch - more details.

The National Final of the Public Speaking Competition was held in the Salons de la Présidence de l’Hôtel du Département du Maine-et-Loire on the 21st March. A large audience of parents, colleagues, teachers and invited guests listened while speakers from Bordeaux and the Loire valley competed for the chance to represent France in the International Final - details.

The AGM was held in the English Language Library in Angers on the 7th March - minutes.

The Departmental Final of the Public Speaking Competition was held in the English Language Library in Angers on the 21st February. Almost 100 people, including parents, teachers and class mates, had come to support the 15 candidates, hoping that last year's success would be repeated.

There was a full house on the 16th February when Colonel Wallerand gave a talk on the French Foreign Legion to the Loire valley branch at the Carousel restaurant in Saumur.
